EUROPEAN WINTER WEEK 2026: AN INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN THE HEART OF NATURE

The European Winter Week 2026 is currently bringing together around 250 students from different member schools of the SEK/IES International Institution to enjoy an international educational experience in a privileged natural setting, where learning, sport and living alongside one another, come together.

In this inaugural edition of the event, held in Andorra, students are participating from Boca Prep International School (United States), Udine International School (Italy), Colegio Internacional Eirís (Spain), Cesário Verde International School (Portugal), SEK Budapest International School (Hungary), Colegio Internacional Levante (Spain) and St. John’s International School (United Kingdom). Living together with students from different countries fosters cultural exchange, communication in international contexts and the creation of bonds that go beyond the classroom.

During the week, students take skiing lessons at the Ordino Arcalís resort in Andorra, where they learn or refine their technique while developing sporting skills, confidence, and a spirit of self-improvement in a high-mountain environment. The programme is completed with leisure activities such as a visit to Caldea, one of the largest thermal leisure centres in southern Europe, where they enjoy its natural thermal waters; cultural tours around the city of Andorra, and an afternoon of ice skating, a fun experience that promotes balance, coordination, and teamwork.

Through the International Programmes of the SEK/IES International Institution, students strengthen their autonomy, responsibility, teamwork and adaptability—key aspects of their personal and academic development. Beyond learning and sport, the Winter Week offers the opportunity to create shared memories, discover new friendships and enjoy unique moments that will last far beyond this week in the snow.
