Ben’s everyday life at SEK Budapest
It has been more than a month since Ben arrived in Hungary. He explored the beautiful Budapest, but of course Ben spends most of his time at school, where he has a lot of friends.
Our students love Ben because he is very interested and he is happy to attend every classes. He already had a lot of adventures here: He met the primary school’s students, studied Hungarian, participated in InterSEK virtual programs and our extracurricular activities.
How are you feeling at SEK Budapest, Ben?
I am very well, thank you! Sometimes I have a little homesickness, but I’m glad to get to know new cultures and make a lot of new friends.
What do you like best in Hungary?
I was able to take part in the preparation for the InterSEK event and I really fell in love with Hungarian folk dance and folk music! I practice the language a lot too.
Kids follow your adventures in SEK/IES schools around the world. What do you message to your followers?
I can’t wait to meet them in person! I love to travel and I know I will visit beautiful places.

Now I know my ABC’s… Preparing for 1st grade in the Preschool
In the preschool this week we have been revisiting our ABC’s and 123’s. For much of our P1 and P2a classes there is still quite a bit to learn when it comes to recognising and writing letters and numbers. The P2b and a selection of P2a on the other hand have shown us that they are more than ready to progress into the wider school.
With the end of the school year fast approaching it was time to visit Miss Agnes in the 1st grade to get a taste of what it will be like to be a first grader in the next school year. The children had the opportunity to become familiar with their new surroundings, experience different activities along with the new personal responsibilities that come with having your own desk and equipment.
